WoW Forever Ore Farming: Where to Mine Every Ore (Zones & Scarce Drops)

This page shows where to farm each ore in Forever. For every vein it lists the skill needed, the Scarce material it can give and the gems. For skill-ups and smelting, see the Mining guide. Buy a Mining Pick from any Trade Goods vendor first.

Best zones by skill

Tin Veins stop giving skill at 165 and Silver at 175. You can only gain one skill point per node, even though a node takes several swings. Wowhead gives no zone route above 225 yet. [Unconfirmed]

Wowhead lists Ooze Covered versions of Mithril, Truesilver, Thorium and Rich Thorium with the normal veins.

Forever-only ores and Scarce materials

Heavy Thorium Ore comes from Heavy Thorium Veins in Mount Hyjal. A player says they found it in the Scourge area, where it looks like a Rich Thorium Vein with green fel smoke. [Unconfirmed]
Scarce materials come in three tiers: Pyrite, Bauxite and Pitchblende. Wowhead lists Pyrite on Copper to Iron and Bauxite on Gold and Mithril. It thinks Pitchblende comes from Truesilver and higher, but that is not confirmed. [Unconfirmed]
Forever adds three new bars: Heavy Thorium Bar, Azerothium Bar and Legionite Bar. Wowhead says Legionite seems to come only from Alchemists transmuting Heavy Thorium Bars.
Each Bountiful Harvest Legacy rank adds 20% Scarce yield, up to 5 ranks.

FAQ

Where should I farm Thorium?

Small Thorium Veins (skill 245) are in Un'Goro Crater, Silithus, Winterspring and Burning Steppes. Rich Thorium (skill 275) adds the Plaguelands and Azshara.

Where is Dark Iron?

Only in Searing Gorge, Burning Steppes and the Blackrock instances. You need 8 ore to smelt one bar.
