WoW Forever Mining Guide 1-300: Ore Levels, Routes & What Changed

What Forever changed about Mining
- Blizzard's beta notes reduced the number of Poor Copper Vein nodes in starter areas.
- Three Scarce materials, boosted by Bountiful Harvest: Pyrite, Bauxite, Pitchblende (spawns unknown).
- 600+ new recipes raise bar demand in Blacksmithing and Engineering. Mining earns no Legacy points.
Learning Mining
A level 3–4 starter quest offers a gathering manual (incl. Mining) if you have under two professions; otherwise train anywhere. Carry a Mining Pick.

Mining 1–300: ore thresholds and zones
Every vein keeps its Classic skill (beta client). Zones are Classic spawns [Classic-based]; spawns aren't in the client.

Copper 1; Tin and Incendicite 65; Silver and Lesser Bloodstone 75; Iron 125; Indurium 150; Gold 155; Mithril 175; Truesilver and Dark Iron 230; Small Thorium 245; Rich Thorium 275; Obsidian Chunks (Ahn'Qiraj) 305. Matches Wowhead's WoW Forever node tooltips (28 October 2026). Truesilver, Small Thorium and Rich Thorium are higher than Classic (205, 230, 255), so their colour bands are unconfirmed. A new 300-skill Mining lock isn't tied to a vein yet.

Every smelt needs a forge. Azerothium and Heavy Thorium Bars feed 39 new Blacksmithing plans and 7 Engineering schematics.
Camp objects
Made in the Smelting window; +12 to +90 melee attack power by level (no stacking with Blessing of Might). Camping 101: Mining sends you to a trainer (e.g. Yarr Hammerstone, Kharanos) for the first.

Tools and extras
- Rockslicer, (dagger, Rhahk'Zor, Deadmines) opens Copper–Iron veins without Mining, 30 charges.
- Enchant Gloves – Mining (+2) and Advanced Mining (+5).
- Mining for Dummies (Rascally Rodents, Harvesting Windstones) teaches Mining if under two professions; +2 skill, up to 15.
- An Apprentice's Mining Pack exists in the client; how you get it is unknown.
Who should take Mining?
Feeds Blacksmithing and Engineering; ore and bars sell steadily on the auction house. Crafting either? Mine from day one.
