What changed from Classic

Find Fish shows nearby fishing pools on the minimap.
Bait and Tackle, a new crafting window, makes a Fish Bowl (20), Fishing Rack (140) and Fishing Hut (300).
New catches and recipes: Whimsyfin in Redridge, Seasonal Fish Steaks cut with a Chef's Knife, Plated Armorfish and Clam Linguine.

Where to fish 1–300

[Classic-based] zones; zone skill levels are server-side and unconfirmed for Forever. Horde reach 150–225 easier on the two islands south-east of Grom'gol; Alliance fish Dustwallow inland (catfish, trout) or the coast north of Theramore.

Bait and Tackle camp objects

Fish Bowl (20): Paxton Ganter near Iceflow Lake, Dun Morogh (Camping 101: Fishing); 1 Raw Brilliant Smallfish and 1 Empty Vial.
Fishing Rack (140): Blueprint: Fishing Rack + 2 Simple Wood, 1 Crystal Vial and 2 Raw Mithril Head Trout.
Fishing Hut (300): Seasonal Fish Steaks, cut from Raw Winter Squid or Raw Summer Bass with a Chef's Knife (82c, e.g. Old Man Heming; 275 Fishing).

Rack and Hut give extra rewards while fishing for an hour.

Lures, Find Fish and skill boosts

Shiny Bauble: 50c, +25 skill for 10 minutes. New boosts: Wide-Brimmed Fishing Hat, “Secret” Bait, Shiny Silver Coin (bonuses [Unconfirmed]).

New fish and vendor changes

Whimsyfin (Redridge, tester report): Deviate Fish effect raw; cooks into Savory Whimsyfin Delight at Cooking 85.
Kilxx (Barrens) sells six raw fish in 5s, Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper 20c to Raw Spinefin Halibut 32s; Khara Deepwater (Loch Modan) and Vernon Hale (Redridge) sell raw fish too.
Trophy fish vendor for 1s per pound; ten Bloated fish are now uncommon, bind on pickup.
The Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza crowns a Master Angler for 6.5 days and pays coins for Jang's new prizes.

FAQ

Where is the Fishing button?

A tester reports it sits on the professions screen, not the spellbook; drag it to your bars.

Does Fishing give Legacy points?

No, only the six crafting professions do.
