WoW Forever Blacksmithing Guide 1-300: Route, New Plans & Favor
Data note: beta client build 1.60.1.70291, datamined by Classic WoW Forever. May change before launch on 5 November 2026.
What changed from Classic
441 plans in the beta client: 244 Classic, 197 new (79 at Artisan). 185 Classic plans go grey sooner, usually by 25 points (Runed Copper Belt greys at 125, not 150); 96 can be learned up to 25 points earlier (Gemmed Copper Gauntlets at 35, not 60). Classic routes leave you crafting greys.
Six Classic plans moved to Leatherworking (e.g. Wildthorn Mail, Invulnerable Mail). New materials: Pristine Leather, Azerothium Bar, Heavy Thorium Bar, Legionite Bar, Sulfuric Acid and Torbernite. Armorsmith and Weaponsmith remain.

Each rank needs both the skill and the character level shown, as in Classic. Trainer names and costs aren't re-checked for Forever yet, so ask the trainer in your capital. You get one Legacy point the first time you reach 150, 225 and 300.

Merchant's Favor plans
Stondry Darkhammer (Three Corners, Alliance) and Gor'mak (Durotar Supply and Logistics, Horde) sell 61 plans for 30–120 Favor: Acolyte's, Crusader's, Guard's, Protector's and Veteran's chain pieces from skill 45, Justicar's/Officer's/Prefect's/Sentinel's/Warder's plate from 175, and Enriched Thorium pieces and the Legionite Glaive at 300. A Blacksmithing Certification (1,000 Favor, title “the Blacksmith”) unlocks at 300.

- Crusader's Boots (85): 12 Bronze Bar, 2 Coarse Grinding Stone, 4 Pristine Leather, 5 Lesser Magic Essence.
- Officer's Pauldrons (210): 20 Mithril Bar, 2 Solid Grinding Stone, 6 Sandpaper, 4 Sulfuric Acid, 8 Jade, 1 Large Glowing Shard.
- Enriched Thorium Breastplate (300): 8 Legionite Bar, 24 Heavy Thorium Bar, 4 Essence of Air, 4 Essence of Fire, 4 Azerothium Bar.

Tips
- Buy Green Dye from a trade-supplies vendor, not the AH.
- Grinding stones (Rough, Heavy, Solid, Dense) carry several stretches: keep your stone.
- Dense Grinding Stone takes 4 Dense Stone each and 225–234 takes about 348 attempts.
FAQ
Where do the new bars come from?
Mining smelts Azerothium (275) and Heavy Thorium (300, at a Molten Foundry). Legionite and Torbernite sources are not known yet.
What does Huge Thorium Battleaxe cost?
40 Thorium Bar, 6 Dense Grinding Stone and 6 Rugged Leather per craft, according to Wowhead's Forever tooltip.
