Privacy
What this site stores, and what it doesn't.
The short version
Forever Guides is an unofficial fan site for World of Warcraft: Forever. There are no accounts, ads or tracking cookies. The only personal data we collect is your email address, and only if you sign up for launch news. We never sell it.
Email sign-up: what we collect
If you join our email list (the form under "Choose Your Side" on the home page), we store:
- your email address;
- the faction you picked (Alliance or Horde), if any;
- your approximate country and region, worked out by Cloudflare from your connection (not your exact location or IP address);
- the page you signed up from, the date and time, and a record that you ticked the consent box.
Why we collect it
We use it only to send what you asked for: WoW Forever launch news and guide updates, themed to your faction. Your consent is the legal basis, and you can withdraw it at any time. Faction and country help us send the right guides and launch times for your region.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare stores sign-ups in a private database (Cloudflare D1) and hosts the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- MailerLite (MailerLite Limited) sends our emails as our data processor, under MailerLite's privacy policy. MailerLite may record whether an email was opened or a link clicked, so we can see which guides are useful.
We don't share your email with anyone else.
Unsubscribing and deleting your data
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom; one click and you're off the list. To have your data deleted entirely, or to see what we hold about you, email theforeverguides@gmail.com and we'll handle it within 30 days. We keep sign-up data only while you're subscribed, and delete it after you unsubscribe or ask us to.
What your browser stores
Your faction choice is saved in your browser's local storage under fg-side, and a region picked on the Realms page under fg-region. These stay on your device and you can clear them in your browser settings. Times are converted to your timezone in your browser.
Third parties
- Wowhead tooltips. Some item and spell tooltips load a script from Wowhead (wow.zamimg.com), which may set its own cookies under its privacy policy.
- Hosting. Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and secure pages.
