WoW Forever Merchant's Favor Guide: Waylaid Crates & Rewards

What is Merchant's Favor?

Merchant's Favor is the currency of the supply factions: the Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance, Three Corners in Redridge, around 10.5, 72.7) and Durotar Supply and Logistics (Horde, outside the Crossroads in the Barrens). Earn it from Waylaid Crates.

Waylaid Crates

Crates appear from level 10. Fill with one bundle from its list, hand in sealed (Alliance: Marcy Baker).

Expert and Artisan values [Unconfirmed] (not in Wowhead's guide). Performance Bonus: 5/10/15% double-Favor chance per turn-in. Fabrics crates take 2 cured hides.

Ore, ingot and herb crates

Ore crates: Apprentice 20 Copper Ore or Tin Ore; Journeyman 10 Silver/20 Iron; Expert 10 Gold/20 Mithril; Artisan 10 Truesilver, 20 Thorium or 20 Dark Iron. Ingot crates take bars (e.g. 10 Bronze Bar, 15 Steel Bar, 2 Dark Iron Bar); herb crates e.g. 20 Peacebloom or 20 Icecap. Full lists: the Mining and Herbalism guides.

Profession vendors at Three Corners

Nina Surefire (Alchemy): 29 recipes, 45–240 Favor.
Alynsia (Enchanting): 39 formulas, 45–240 Favor.
Fritz Fizzle (Engineering): schematics for 45–360 Favor, including the Gnomish Army Knife (250 skill, 270 Favor).
Stondry Darkhammer (Blacksmithing; Gor'mak for Horde): 61 plans, 30–120 Favor.

What Favor buys (Leatherworking, Alliance)

Brawler's/Defender's leather belt, boots, tunic, gloves, legguards and hood at skill 60–110: 30 Favor each.
Prowler's/Skulker's pieces and the Forceful Thick Armor Kit (185) and Mystic Rugged Armor Kit (235): 60–90 Favor.
Certifications at 300 skill: 1,000 Favor each, granting the title the Alchemist, the Blacksmith, the Enchanter, the Engineer, the Leatherworker or the Tailor.
Pack Kodo mount: 6,000 Favor; Packmule Treat: 1,500 Favor; Advertising License Application: 1,200 Favor at Honored; ACA Tabard: 200 Favor at Exalted.

The 20 vs 40 Medium Leather question

Journeyman Textiles text asks for 20 Medium Leather but the beta spell consumes 40; a Wowhead commenter says Apprentice wants 40 Linen and refuses two stacks. Bring a spare stack until confirmed.

Tips

Uncommon bundles pay double; check before filling with commons.
Spend early Favor on levelling plans; save for Certifications and the Pack Kodo.
Auctioneer Quickcoin is at camp (about 9.7, 72.0).

FAQ

Do I need reputation to buy plans?

Most profession plans need no reputation; the Advertising License (Honored) and Tabard (Exalted) do.

Where do Horde players hand in crates?

Durotar Supply and Logistics, outside the Crossroads in the Barrens (about 42, 34).

Can Favor be bought with gold?

No source lists a gold exchange; Favor comes from crate turn-ins.
