WoW Forever Leatherworking Specializations: Dragonscale, Elemental & Tribal

Leatherworking has three specializations in Forever: Dragonscale, Elemental and Tribal. You can only have one. Each one unlocks its own set of patterns. This page covers how to unlock each one, where the trainers are, and what each one is good for. For skill-ups, see the Leatherworking guide.

Sources say the spec unlocks at character level 40 and Leatherworking skill 225. That skill number comes from Classic. [Classic-based] Some fan sites say Forever has not documented the skill needed, whether the specs are exclusive, or the cost to switch. [Unconfirmed]

Tribal goes through a pattern quest chain: Alliance quests 2849 and 2850, Horde quests 2856 and 2857. Each trainer gives a quest that asks for the unlock items above. [Classic-based]

Which one should you pick?
- Dragonscale: pick this if you or your group wear mail. The resistance stats are gone, and each colour now fits a role.
- Tribal: best for Druids (Wolfshead Helm) and for selling Devilsaur gear to physical damage players.
- Elemental: pick this if you can farm elemental materials cheaply. Stormshroud and Volcanic gear are a gold market.

Can I switch specs?
Forever sources have not documented how switching works or what it costs. [Unconfirmed]
Do I need Skinning?
No, but it helps. Pristine Leather from Skinning is used in many Forever recipes. See Skinning.
