WoW Forever known issues: what Blizzard has confirmed

Live update (AEDT): Thu 5 Nov, 10:32am. WoW Forever went live at 10:00am AEDT. Blizzard CS posted its official Info & Known Issues thread at 10:21am AEDT, but its known issues list was still empty when we checked. No new issues acknowledged by Blizzard yet. Players are reporting "ruleset temporarily unavailable" screens; Blizzard CS has only said it will pass that report on, so it isn't in the table below yet.

This page lists only issues Blizzard has acknowledged, each with a link to where Blizzard said it and the date in AEDT. Player reports, Reddit threads and rumours stay off this list until Blizzard or Blizzard CS confirms them. Right now that's a short list, and that's the honest picture: the game went live at 10:00am AEDT Thu 5 Nov.

Planned downtime (not an issue)

Launch maintenance ran from 5:00am AEDT Thu 5 Nov (10:00am PST Wed 4 Nov) and ended when the game went live at 10:00am AEDT. Blizzard hasn't announced any maintenance since (checked 10:32am AEDT).

"Faction unavailable" on a ruleset (working as designed)

Since launch, players have reported a message saying a faction can't be created on a ruleset because of population imbalance. Blizzard described this system before launch: it can temporarily limit new characters for one faction. It isn't a bug, and Blizzard hasn't said how long a lock lasts. Queue and faction lock tips Full time zone table: launch time.

What about the beta known issues?

Blizzard ran known issues threads during the beta. The beta closed at 4:00am AEDT Sat 24 Oct (beta page), and those lists were for beta builds. We haven't copied them here, because Blizzard hasn't said which, if any, still apply to the live game.

FAQ

Does WoW Forever have a known issues list?

Yes. Blizzard CS posted an official Info & Known Issues thread at 10:21am AEDT Thursday 5 November, after launch. When we checked at 10:32am AEDT, its known issues list was still empty. We list the bugs Blizzard has acknowledged elsewhere, with links.

Is the Australian RP ruleset bug fixed?

Blizzard said a fix was coming on 28 October AEDT but had not posted that it was fixed when we checked at 10:32am AEDT Thursday 5 November. Make Roleplay or Roleplay-PvP characters before Normal or PvP ones.

Why does my character name say it is restricted?

Blizzard confirmed the restricted-name check was too strict, for example blocking names containing c-o-n, and said a fix would land with the next realm restarts. Try the exact name again.
