WoW Forever Tailoring Guide 1-300: Route, Pristine Patterns & Bags
Data note: beta client build 1.60.1.70291, datamined by Classic WoW Forever. May change before launch on 5 November 2026.
What changed from Classic
414 patterns: 234 Classic, 180 new (55 at Artisan). 208 Classic patterns go grey about 35 points sooner (Earthen Vest greys at 185, not 220), and 125 can be learned earlier, by up to 110 points (Tuxedo Jacket at 140, not 250). Classic routes fail. New materials: Pristine Leather, Cerulean and Magenta Dye and Malleable Essence of Nature. Cenarion Herb Bag now holds 26 slots and Satchel of Cenarius 32.
Training ranks
| Rank | Skill cap | Train at |
|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 75 | Level 5 |
| Journeyman | 150 | 50 skill, level 10 |
| Expert | 225 | 125 skill, level 20 |
| Artisan | 300 | 200 skill, level 35 |
Each rank needs both the skill and the character level shown, as in Classic. Trainer names and costs aren't re-checked for Forever yet, so ask the trainer in your capital. You get one Legacy point the first time you reach 150, 225 and 300.

Tailoring 1–272 route
Past 272 trainer and vendor patterns stop giving reliable skill-ups, so the last points come from drop patterns. About 3,442 materials to 272. One vendor trip: Moonglade.

Camp objects
Faction Banner (20, Spirit buff), Spinning Wheel (140) and Loom (300).
Merchant's Favor patterns
Mivin Shadowweave at Three Corners (Alliance) sells Flame, Pearly, Pristine, Shadow, Shining and Silky cloth sets from skill 60 (30 Favor), Nether-shoulders and cuffs (195–205), Mageweave and Runecloth Reagent Bags, and sandals at 235 (90 Favor). A Tailoring Certification (1,000 Favor, title “the Tailor”) unlocks at 300.
Legacy perks that help
| Perk | Ranks | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Working Overtime | 5 | +4% skill-up chance per rank (max 20%) |
| Dedicated Study | 1 | +1 skill to your lowest primary or secondary tradeskill; 25 s cast, 23 h cooldown |
| Performance Bonus | 3 | 5/10/15% chance of double Merchant's Favor on a crate turn-in |
Spinning Wheel blueprint
Happy Camper sells Blueprint: Spinning Wheel (and Blueprint: Tanning Rack) for 15 silver just outside Ironforge (Dun Morogh 51.6, 40.0); Horde can buy too, near Ironforge's guards. Rare old drops: Unstable Sentinel (Spinning Wheel), Razorclaw the Butcher (Tanning Rack). Learning and placing needs 140 skill; blueprints and objects are tradeable.

| Object | Materials | Enables |
|---|---|---|
| Spinning Wheel | 5 Bolt of Silk Cloth, 3 Fine Thread, 2 Simple Wood | 74 Tailoring recipes |
| Tanning Rack | 5 Medium Leather, 3 Fine Thread, 2 Simple Wood | 48 Leatherworking recipes |
A placed object is used up after 15 minutes; camp objects share a one-hour cooldown and need a campfire first. Station recipes start at 125 but placing needs 140, so craft beside someone else's station in that gap.
Tips
- Buy Bleach, Blue Dye, Red Dye, Coarse, Fine, Silken and Rune Thread from a trade-supplies vendor, not the AH.
- Bolts carry big stretches (Silk 100–118, Mageweave 140–149, Runecloth 205–214). Save questing cloth.
- Runecloth Boots also take Ironweb Spider Silk and Rugged Leather, so plan for them before 235.
FAQ
Does Tailoring use Pristine Leather?
Yes. The Pristine cloth line uses it, so tailors compete with leatherworkers for supply.
Why does the route stop at 272?
Our source route doesn't list a recipe for 272–300 yet, so that stretch is marked as a gap.
