WoW Forever OCE guide: Sydney servers, routing and ping
Short answer: ✅ Oceania gets Australian-hosted servers in the Americas region (Blizzard). 📶 If your latency sits well above 100 ms, you're probably being routed to North America.
| Check | Sydney (good) | NA routing (problem) |
|---|---|---|
| 🏠 Home / 🌍 World latency | ~40-60 ms (player reports, non-Blizzard) | ~160 ms+ (player reports, non-Blizzard) |
| ⏳ Looting, quest turn-in | Snappy | Noticeable delay |

How to check your latency
Hover over the network bar in the micro menu (or open the game menu) to see Home and World latency in milliseconds. During the stress test, one player saw 161 ms on both and still sat at 65 ms World when grouped with OCE friends; another on Sydney saw 48 ms (player reports, non-Blizzard source).
Routed to NA? What to try
- Restart Battle.net and the game, then log in again.
- Run Blizzard's connection steps: close other apps, reset your router, use a wired connection (Blizzard Support).
- Region setting: ⏳ [Unconfirmed] Some players report that setting their region to Australia fixed the routing (player reports, non-Blizzard source). Blizzard hasn't confirmed this, and it isn't official guidance.
- VPNs: one stress-test player said a VPN to Sydney or Brisbane didn't change anything (player report, non-Blizzard source).
- Still high? Report it to Blizzard Support with your latency readings.

FAQ
Does WoW Forever have Australian servers?
Yes. Blizzard confirms Australian-hosted servers for Oceanic players, inside the Americas region.
What ping should I get in Australia?
Players on Sydney report roughly 40-60 ms from the east coast. Around 160 ms or more usually means you're routed to North America. These are non-Blizzard player reports, not Blizzard figures.
How do I fix being routed to NA?
Blizzard hasn't published a fix. Some players say setting their region to Australia helped. ⏳ [Unconfirmed]. Otherwise use Blizzard's standard connection steps and contact Blizzard Support.

Can OCE players group with US friends?
Both sit in the Americas region, but Blizzard hasn't detailed how OCE and US players share layers. ⏳ [Unconfirmed].
What time does WoW Forever launch in Australia?
10:00am AEDT Thursday 5 November 2026 (3:00pm PST Wednesday 4 November).
