WoW Forever Arcane Mage Leveling

Tooltips: Wowhead Forever DB, exact matches only (build 70532, 28 Oct).

Arcane is a low-effort questing spec with good mana and solid single-target damage. It takes more hits than Frost and has fewer PvP tools, so Wowhead suggests Frost for brand-new players.

Talent order

• 2 points in Wand Specialization, then Missile Barrage, plus 1 in Arcane Focus to open row 2.
• Arcane Subtlety next: less threat in dungeons from 15, and 15 Spell Piercing.
• Arcane Blast at 20 to fish for Missile Barrage.
• Improved Channeling for when Arcane Missiles rank 3 (five missiles) lands at 24.
• Arcane Wrath at 25, cast on cooldown; it is cheap and can proc Missile Barrage.

• Then Arcane Concentration and Arcane Meditation for mana, Frostbolt talents, and Arcane damage and crit up to Arcane Power.

Leveling rotation (from 20)

Tips

• Fire Blast while moving if mana allows.
• Before Improved Frostbolt (36–40), Fireball can replace Frostbolt if you don't need the slow.
• Frost Nova to make space, then repeat.
