WoW Forever transmog
Short answer: 👕 Transmog is in, and it's opt-in. Use a transmogrifier in certain cities, or turn it off and see everyone in their real gear. Blizzard explains the rules in its Deep Dive recap.

Blizzard's aim: nobody should roll against a player who needs an upgrade just to collect a look.
🚫 Turning transmog off
- Disable it at a transmogrifier, or pick the Classic preset at first login.
- With it off, you see others only in their equipped gear.
- You can still set your own transmog, for example to hide a helm or cloak, without turning the full system on.
- Others' hidden helm and cloak settings still show for you.
