| ๐ On Blizzard's list? | โ No. M2 is the lowest Apple chip listed | Blizzard requirements |
| ๐งช Ran in the beta? | โ ๏ธ Player-reported: an M1 MacBook Air (8GB) at about 35-40 FPS on adjusted settings | Blizzard forums, 14 Oct 2026 |
| ๐ ๏ธ Blizzard testing? | โน๏ธ A Blizzard developer said he tested a Mac graphics bug on an M1 Ultra | Rommax (Blizzard), 2 Oct 2026 |
| ๐ Supported at launch? | โณ [Unconfirmed] Blizzard hasn't answered | Same M1 thread, no Blizzard reply when we checked |
Our read: an M1 sits below the official minimum. It may launch, but Blizzard support doesn't have to help if it struggles. [Unconfirmed] Whether the launch client blocks M1, and M1 frame rates at launch.

๐งฉ Apple Silicon vs Intel

| Game runs natively? | โ ๏ธ See below | โ Intel build |
| Battle.net app | Runs through Rosetta 2 | Native Intel |
- โ Modern WoW is arm64. In 2024 Blizzard developer Rommax wrote that World of Warcraft.app ships a true arm64 executable next to the Intel one. He also said the Battle.net launcher, in-game browser, voice chat and crash reporter still run under emulation.
- โ ๏ธ Forever specifically: a beta tester's crash report on Blizzard's forums lists the client as build 69893 (ARM64). [Unconfirmed] Blizzard hasn't said this in an official note for the launch client.

๐ Battle.net won't open after a macOS update

๐ Mac bugs Blizzard worked on in the beta
Blizzard developer Rommax posted these in the Mac graphics thread:
| Date (2026) | Blizzard said | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2 Oct | A camera crash inside the Metal driver showed up on macOS 12 and 13. macOS 14+ "may" avoid it | โ ๏ธ Suggestion, not a fix |
| 6 Oct | Build 70245 fixed Secondary Lighting wrongly using raid settings | โ Fixed in beta |
| 8 Oct | The "crazy shadows" bug should be fixed. MSAA turned off until its bugs are solved | โ / โณ |
| 10 Oct | Build 70338 fixed Stormwind water | โ Fixed in beta |
| 13-21 Oct | Fixes aimed at the green/magenta tint. More were due after the server stress test | โณ [Unconfirmed] Not confirmed fixed |

[Unconfirmed] Which of these are in the launch client, and whether MSAA returns. On macOS 12 or 13, updating to macOS 14 or later is the developer's suggestion, not a requirement.

๐ Mac addons folder
| Path | |
|---|---|
| ๐งช Beta (default) | /Applications/World of Warcraft/_classic_beta_/Interface/AddOns |
| ๐ Launch | โณ [Unconfirmed] Blizzard hasn't published the launch folder name. Some fan sites report _forever_, but we haven't seen a Blizzard source |
| โ Always works | Battle.net โ Forever โ cog next to Play โ Show in Finder โ open Interface/AddOns |
The beta path is the default given in a Blizzard forums guide. Its author said they didn't have a Mac to check it. Create Interface and AddOns if they're missing. Full steps, CurseForge and settings fixes: WoW Forever addons folder.
