Drain tanking is back

Wowhead's beta tester levels Affliction by draining: DoTs first, then Drain Life as the filler. It heals back the damage you take and the health Life Tap costs, so you rarely stop to eat or drink. Life Tap now scales with Spirit.

Pets

Voidwalker at 10, Succubus (or Incubus, separate chain) at 20, Felhunter at 30. Wowhead says the Succubus does roughly 1.5× the Voidwalker's damage but can't hold threat without Demonology talents. Torment is stronger than in Classic, so the Voidwalker is the safe choice when mobs hit hard.

Rotation

Step	Do this
1	Send in the pet.
2	Corruption and Bane of Agony.
3	Drain Life until the mob dies; wand when you're full or it's nearly dead.

Pulling two at a time is faster: DoT and Fear the first, fight the second with your pet, re-Fear as needed.

Talents at 30

Wowhead's core: Improved Corruption 5/5, Improved Drains 3/3, Suppression 4/5, Improved Life Tap 2/2, Malediction, Amplify Curse and Soul Siphon. With Legacy points, fill Soul Siphon to 3/3.

Tips

Meeting stones don't summon in Forever, so keep two shards for Ritual of Summoning. Soulstone the healer before boss pulls.

Level 30 to 60

Beta caps at 30; no tested route or talent order beyond. Level 30–60 route: Not yet published, updated at launch.
