Demonology levels with its demon. It plays like a weaker Affliction until Demonic Brand at 25–27, then your demon does a large share of the damage.

- Unholy Power 5/5 and Demonic Energies 2/2.
- Fel Vitality 3/3 to open the next tier.
- Master Summoner 2/2 for faster, cheaper summons.
- Improved Sayaad 3/3 for a stronger Lash of Pain.
- Demonic Brand 3/3, all three points in a row.
- 31 points in Demonology for Demonic Pact at 40; the last 20 go to Affliction.
Leveling rotation
| Step | Do this |
|---|---|
| 1 | Searing Pain on your demon's target to brand it. |
| 2 | Corruption on every mob; Bane of Agony on longer fights; Immolate on high-health mobs. |
| 3 | Drain Life (rank 3+ from 30) or wand to fill. |
| 4 | Rebrand with Searing Pain after your demon's 6 branded attacks, even mid-channel. |
| 5 | Wand the last ticks. |
From 40: sacrifice the Imp with Demonic Sacrifice, then summon the Sayaad; Demonic Pact keeps the bonus.
