WoW Forever launch day checklist: what to do before 5 November
Exact launch time in your time zone: see the WoW Forever launch time page. Launch is 10:00am AEDT Thu 5 Nov (3:00pm PST Wed 4 Nov). Work through this checklist before then.
Before launch day
- [ ] Subscription or Game Time active. Blizzard requires one to play.
- [ ] Client installed: Battle.net → World of Warcraft → Game Version → World of Warcraft: Forever → Install.
- [ ] Drivers and Battle.net app updated (Blizzard's own advice for reservation).
- [ ] Ruleset chosen. You can't hop rulesets later; a new ruleset means a new character. Rulesets explained
If you own an upgrade edition
- [ ] Reserve names by 3 Nov. Three characters per account across all rulesets. Guide
- [ ] Aussie servers: make RP or RP-PvP characters before Normal or PvP ones until Blizzard's fix lands.
- [ ] PvP ruleset: all your characters there must be the same faction.
- [ ] Invite-A-Friend codes sent to friends (playable 4–11 Nov PST). Editions
On the day
- [ ] Set Preferred Online Language (Options > Languages and Social). It has a 24-hour cooldown.
- [ ] Expect queues. Blizzard hasn't said whether servers open on the minute or after a short maintenance.
- [ ] Check our patch notes and news for launch-day fixes.
